Composition
Jardin d'Amalfi is a citrus eau de parfum for women and men by Olivier Creed, launched in 2011 as part of the Royal Exclusives line celebrating the house's 250th anniversary. It opens with tangerine, neroli, bergamot and pink pepper, develops Bulgarian rose, apple and Virginia cedar in the heart, and settles into white musk, Haitian vetiver and cinnamon.
To me this smells like the Amalfi Coast the way it looks on postcards, except real. Tangerine and neroli and bergamot open in a citrus explosion — groves terraced down to the sea — with pink pepper adding a sparkle like sunlight on water. Then it softens: Bulgarian rose, an apple crisp and green, Virginia cedar like the wooden boats in the harbor. White musk and Haitian vetiver settle underneath, clean as sea air, with cinnamon warming the edges like the last hour of sun. It is a holiday you can wear. Bright, breezy, and impossibly blue. Beginner-friendly.
