To me this smells like a frankincense burner swinging in a Goan chapel during a monsoon power cut — candles the only light, rain hammering the roof, and the smoke going everywhere because the air is too heavy to carry it away. Oregano and pepper snap like wet wood catching, and then the resins take over: opoponax, labdanum, amber, thick as honey and twice as dark. The leather and oud arrive late, like the storm settling into a long, low rumble. It is chaos, but it is the kind of chaos you want to stand in the middle of.
