Composition
Launched in 2018, Hugo Reversed is a woody-aromatic fragrance for men and a fresh take on the Hugo line. It opens with grapefruit and Calabrian bergamot, followed by a rosemary heart. Haitian vetiver anchors the base.
To me this smells like the simplest good idea — grapefruit and Calabrian bergamot sparkling in the first breath, bright as a snapped citrus peel, rosemary dry and herbal behind them like the garden at the edge of the terrace. And then vetiver, Haitian and green, rooting it all in clean dark earth. There is nothing to hide behind here and nothing to hide. It is citrus done right: crisp, honest, and endlessly wearable. Rosemary's herbal dryness is what makes it interesting, not just another citrus. Beginner-friendly.
