Composition
The traditional smell of Awadh — strong, spicy and very warm, with a spice-and-nutmeg opening, a musky mace-and-patchouli heart, and a deep amber-resin, benzoin and leather base.
Hina is old-Lucknow in a bottle: unapologetically warm, spicy and resinous, the kind of attar worn at winter weddings. It is dense and long-wearing. Beginners: a little goes a long way — apply sparingly and let the spices settle.
