Composition
Habdan is an amber-vanilla eau de parfum for women and men, launched in 2013. It opens with saffron and olibanum, develops apple, woody notes and rose in the heart, and settles into myrrh, caramel and ambergris.
To me this smells like a winter night in an old Lucknow mansion — saffron threads blooming in warm milk, olibanum incense curling from a brass burner, the air thick and golden. It's regal before it's anything else. Apple cuts through the richness, crisp and bright, with rose and woody notes keeping it from floating off into pure opulence. Then myrrh and caramel melt together — dark, resinous, edible — over ambergris's salty warmth. Sweet, spicy, balsamic, deep. This is a scent for people who've already learned that saffron and smoke are friends. Beginners should admire from afar. Not for beginners — beginners stay away.
