Composition
A floral-fruity gourmand from The Narcotics line by Calice Becker, on the theme of forbidden fruit. Apple, peach, plum and cinnamon open into Bulgarian rose, bourbon geranium and jasmine, drying down to vanilla, honey and opoponax.
To me this smells like sneaking into the dessert table at a wedding before dinner — apple, peach, and plum, all ripe and glistening, dusted with cinnamon like someone got generous with the shaker. It's the smell of mischief that ends well. Bulgarian rose blooms through the fruit, romantic and lush, geranium and jasmine adding their green-floral hum. Then it melts: vanilla, honey, opoponax — thick, golden, resinous-sweet, like the bottom of a gulab jamun tin. Sweet, fruity, warm. The kind of gourmand that makes strangers lean in closer. Beginner-friendly.
