Composition
A 2012 edition in the Flora by Gucci line. Violet leaf and peach open over tuberose, African orange flower and rose, with Virginia cedar and French labdanum in the base. A creamy tuberose framed by soft fruit and woods.
To me this smells like a florist's cold room at dawn — violet leaf green and dewy in the first breath, peach soft and velvety behind it. Then the tuberose arrives, creamy and intoxicating, African orange flower honeyed beside it, rose pink at the edges — a whole white-flower bouquet, slightly narcotic. Cedar and labdanum underneath give it a dry, resinous backbone, like the wooden workbench the flowers are arranged on. It is lush and ladylike, but never fragile. The peach softens every edge, velvet against all that white. Beginner-friendly.
