Composition
Fleurissimo is a floral eau de parfum for women by James Henry Creed, launched in 1956 and commissioned for Grace Kelly's wedding day. It opens with bergamot, violet leaves and mandarin orange, develops tuberose, rose, jasmine, ylang-ylang and neroli in the heart, and settles into orris, cedar and sandalwood.
To me this smells like Grace Kelly's wedding bouquet still fresh at midnight — tuberose, rose, jasmine, ylang-ylang and neroli arriving in one great white wave, luminous and perfect. Bergamot and violet leaves give it air at the start, and orris with cedar and sandalwood powders it down into something timeless. It is the archetype of the bridal white floral, and every second of it is earned. Pure, radiant, eternal. The neroli adds a green, orange-blossom sparkle, like light falling through a cathedral window. Beginner-friendly.
