Composition
Figment Man is an oriental-woody eau de parfum for men by Annick Menardo, launched in 2017 and inspired by the Kingdom of Bhutan. It opens with lemon, geranium and pink pepper, develops sandalwood, an animalic accord and vetiver in the heart, and settles into labdanum, guaiac wood and an earthy accord.
To me this smells like a yak-butter monastery trail in Bhutan at dusk — lemon and pink pepper burning off fast, and then the air turns thick with sandalwood smoke and damp earth. The animalic accord is the thing: dark, skin-like, a little feral, with vetiver and labdanum dragging it deeper into the forest floor. This is not a perfume that wants to be liked; it wants to be respected. One spray and you are miles from the city. Not for beginners — beginners stay away.
