Composition
Dorval is a 2026 Eau de Parfum from Parfums de Marly, first launched as a Nordstrom exclusive. A woody-spicy gourmand, it opens with bergamot, pink pepper and cardamom, moves through clary sage, copaiba balm and cinnamon, and settles into ambroxan, vanilla, tonka, praline and guaiac wood. Modern, sweet and magnetic.
Dorval starts with a sparkling, almost fizzy spice — bergamot and pink pepper like champagne bubbles — then the clary sage and copaiba balm pull it into aromatic, balsamic territory, green and resinous at once. The drydown is where it seduces: praline and vanilla melting into guaiac wood and ambroxan, sweet but never cloying, like the smell of an expensive dessert counter in a wood-panelled room. It is very much in the current sweet-woody fashion, executed with PdM polish. Indian buyers should note it leans sweet and will project; one to try before committing. Beginners who love gourmand-leaning scents will find it immediately likeable.
