Composition
Dahlia Divin is an Oriental Floral fragrance for women launched in 2014, continuing the fantasy of the Dahlia Noir line. Its composition is centered around a Sambac jasmine note on a woody-chypre base: mirabelle plum opens, leading to a heart of Sambac jasmine and white flowers over a base of sandalwood, vetiver and patchouli. Alicia Keys fronted the campaign.
To me this smells like a golden goddess in a sunlit garden. Mirabelle plum and citrus open juicy and radiant, pink pepper adding a rosy sparkle, and then the florals bloom in waves — jasmine sambac, peach, orange blossom, rose — lush and golden, like late afternoon light. The patchouli-sandalwood-vetiver base gives it a woody depth that keeps it from floating away, and vanilla-white musk wraps it all in soft warmth. It is opulent and joyful, the scent of being the main character. Beginner-friendly.
