Scent story

To me this smells like standing on the rocks at Kanyakumari before sunrise, when the sea is still black and the air tastes of salt and crushed green leaves. A wave breaks and throws up a cold citrus spray — bergamot bright as a squeezed nimbu — and underneath there's wet vetiver, dark moss on the stones, and something warm and resinous like birch smoke from a fisherman's fire further down the beach. It never sits still. The spices — coriander seed, a pinch of nutmeg, that green bite of basil — keep shifting like wind over water. Hours later it's just warm skin and sandalwood, the memory of the sea still clinging on. Beginner-friendly.
