Composition
RhubarbCrab Apple Blossom is a unisex pure parfum from Clive Christian's Crown Collection, relaunched in 2020 from an original 1886 Crown Perfumery formula. It opens with apple blossom, bergamot and fresh sea notes, the heart pairing mojito accord with green rhubarb. Sandalwood and driftwood anchor the base.
To me this smells like an orchard that grew up next to the sea. Apple blossom opens delicate and pink-white, petals on the breeze, with bergamot adding citrus sparkle — and then the sea air rushes in, salty and mineral, completely unexpected and completely right. The mojito and rhubarb heart is tart and green, like biting into something unripe on purpose, and the sandalwood-driftwood base is sun-bleached wood on a beach. It is strange and fresh and quietly expensive-smelling. Beginner-friendly.
