Composition
Bottega Veneta Eau de Parfum (2011) is the house's debut scent, a leather-chypre for women. Pink pepper and bergamot open into sambac jasmine, resolving into a supple leather accord with oakmoss and patchouli. Understated, earthy and elegant, it is a modern classic.
This smells like slipping into a perfectly worn-in leather jacket in a garden after rain — the pink pepper and bergamot opening is bright and green, then the sambac jasmine softens the heart before the leather and oakmoss take over. It is earthy, a little smoky, never sweet, and feels quietly luxurious rather than flashy. In India this is a winter-evening scent; beginners should sample first, since the leather is distinctive and not universally loved.
