Boond Maati (Mitti Attar) is a traditional alcohol-free attar from Kannauj, Uttar Pradesh, crafted by Boond Fragrances using the centuries-old Deg-Bhapka copper-vessel distillation. Pure oil — a drop or two is enough, and it blooms with body heat.
Scent story
Maati is the most Indian smell in all of perfumery. It opens with baked earth and petrichor, that impossible scent of the first rain hitting hot soil, and for a moment you are seven years old again, running outside barefoot. Then sandalwood and vetiver rise underneath, warm and grounding, like the earth itself breathing. To me this is not a fragrance, it is a memory everyone shares.
