Composition
An energizing green twist on the Black Opium coffee-vanilla DNA by Nathalie Lorson and Olivier Cresp. Pear, fig leaf and green mandarin open onto fig, orange blossom and jasmine over bourbon vanilla, coffee and patchouli.
I get a carnival-night feeling — Pear, crisp and juicy, fig leaf, green and milky and green mandarin, zesty and green-bright spun-sugar sweet and glowing under string lights. Then Ripe fig, milky and green-sweet, orange blossom, white and honeyed and jasmine, heady and white arrive, softening the edges and pulling the whole composition inward, closer to the skin. Underneath it all, Bourbon vanilla, rich and boozy, dark coffee, roasted and bitter and patchouli, dark and earthy-sweet hum low and steady, holding the composition together. It is equal parts comfort and confidence, and it never tries too hard. Beginner-friendly — easy to love from the first spray.
