Athénaïs is an oriental-floral eau de parfum for women, launched in 2026 and inspired by Athénaïs de Montespan, muse of Louis XIV. It opens with neroli, bergamot and yuzu, develops orange blossom, jasmine sambac and mahonial in the heart, and settles into vanilla, tonka bean and amber.
Scent story
To me this smells like Versailles at golden hour. Neroli, bergamot and yuzu open sparkling — champagne in a crystal glass, citrus fizzing. Then the white flowers take over the ballroom: orange blossom lush and honeyed, jasmine sambac heady and indolic, drifting through candlelight. The base is pure indulgence — vanilla and tonka bean like silk and powdered wigs, amber glowing warm underneath. It is named for the Sun King's most famous mistress, and it smells like her: radiant, commanding, and impossible to forget. Beginner-friendly.
