Arethusa is a unisex extrait de parfum from Tiziana Terenzi, launched in 2014 and created by Paolo Terenzi. It opens with Fig, Plum, Sage, Ginger, Pink Grapefruit, Orange and Red Sandalwood, reveals a heart of Pomegranate, Heather, Saffron, Jasmine, Orange Blossom and Rose, and settles into Sea Water, Salt, Vetiver, Sand, White Nerium Oleander, Leather, Labdanum, Patchouli, Broom and Liquidambar. Its character is defined by fruity, marine and sweet accords.
This smells like a myth happening in real time. Sea water and salt crash against hot sand, fig and pomegranate drip with juice, saffron and ginger spice the air — and then leather and labdanum rise like something ancient and animal stirring underneath. Jasmine, orange blossom and rose bloom through the salt spray; vetiver and patchouli root it in dark earth. It is the ocean, the desert, and a garden all at once. Wild, salty, and utterly unique. The broom and heather add a wild, honeyed green — like moorland in bloom — and the liquidambar resins it golden. It is the strangest, most wonderful thing here. Beginner-friendly.
