Composition
Oud and rose in a woody, spicy and leathery dance, inspired by an ancestral scented ritual. An explosion of spices opens into rose, violet and patchouli leaves, over leather, Nepalese oud, amber, vanilla and white musk.
To me this smells like a private majlis in Riyadh after midnight — spices hang in the air like incense, unnamed and intoxicating, and then the rose arrives: dark red, velvet, with violet's powdery shadow behind it. It's opulence as atmosphere. Patchouli darkens the edges, and then the base: Nepalese oud, honeyed and resinous and unmistakably real, wrapped in leather — dark, polished, animal-warm — over amber, vanilla, and white musk. This is Mancera at full power: oud and leather with the volume turned all the way up. Magnificent, and absolutely not a first oud. Not for beginners — beginners stay away.
