Ange ou Démon is an Oriental Floral fragrance for women launched in 2006, created by Olivier Cresp and Jean-Pierre Bethouart in a bottle designed by Serge Mansau. Its dualistic "Angel or Devil" nature is innocently crystal and sensual at the same time: sweet freshness of mandarin, thyme and saffron opens the way to an opulent heart of lily, ylang-ylang and orchid, with creamy rosewood, oakmoss, tonka and vanilla in the trace.
Scent story
To me this smells like the angel and the devil called a truce over dessert — saffron and thyme opening with a strange, spicy whisper, mandarin flashing bright, and then lily, ylang-ylang and orchid blooming creamy and white in the heart. The vanilla and tonka base is pure indulgence, with Brazilian rosewood and oakmoss adding depth underneath the sweetness. Dualistic in name, delicious in practice — the rare 'dark' perfume that is secretly a gourmand. The thyme is the strange masterstroke — herbal and a little sharp, it keeps the vanilla from ever getting boring. Beginner-friendly.
