212 VIP Men Eau de Toilette by Carolina Herrera, launched in 2011. An oriental woody fragrance for men. It opens with passionfruit, lime, pepper and ginger, has a heart of vodka, gin, mint and spices, and a base of amber, leather and woods.
To me this smells like the VIP section at 1am. Passionfruit and lime fizz like a cocktail being shaken too close to your face, pepper and ginger giving it that electric, after-dark bite. Then the vodka and gin notes roll in — boozy, cool, a little reckless — with mint keeping everything icy. The dry down turns warm and expensive: amber and leather, the smell of the couch you are sitting on and the night going exactly to plan. Pure nightlife in a bottle. A friendly party starter.
