How our prices work

Perfume Price Comparison in India

Perfume prices in India are a maze. The same bottle can cost Rs. 4,000 on one site and Rs. 6,500 on another, and neither price is necessarily wrong. Scentarchy tracks prices across Indian sellers so you can see the real range and buy at the right price. Here is exactly how it works.

What you see on a perfume page

Every perfume page on Scentarchy that has price data shows the lowest available price in rupees, along with the sellers offering it. When multiple sellers stock the same fragrance, you see each seller's price side by side, so you can compare without opening five tabs. The prices link directly to the seller's product page.

Prices are refreshed regularly, but they are a snapshot, not a live feed. Sellers change prices, run sales, and go out of stock. If a price looks too good to be true on the seller's site, check whether the listing is for the same size bottle. A 50ml and a 100ml of the same perfume are very different prices, and mixups happen.

Which sellers we track

Scentarchy currently tracks prices from verified Indian sellers, including Sephora India, Sephora, and Tata Cliq Luxury. These are established retailers with genuine stock and reliable fulfillment. We show only sellers we can verify, which is why you will not see every random marketplace listing here.

The list grows over time. If a seller you trust is missing, that does not mean their prices are bad. It just means we have not verified and integrated their catalog yet. See our verified sellers page for the full current list.

Why the same perfume costs different amounts

This confuses a lot of buyers, so here is the honest breakdown of why prices vary.

Import duties and sourcing. Designer fragrances sold in India are mostly imported, and import duties are significant. A seller who imports directly pays different costs than one who sources through a distributor. Grey market sellers skip official channels entirely, which is why they are cheaper, and riskier.

Sales and promotions. Indian e-commerce runs on sales. Sephora's sale price and its regular price for the same bottle can differ by 20 percent or more. Scentarchy shows the current price, so a perfume can look expensive one week and reasonable the next.

Bottle size. This is the most common source of confusion. Always check the size. A Rs. 3,500 listing for 50ml is not cheaper than a Rs. 5,000 listing for 100ml. Compare per-ml, not per bottle.

Old vs new stock. Sometimes a seller discounts a fragrance because it is old stock or the packaging changed. The perfume inside is usually fine, but it is worth knowing why the price dropped.

How to use price comparison smartly

Check before every purchase. Prices move. A perfume you looked at last month may have dropped. The comparison on each perfume page takes seconds to scan.

Factor in shipping and authenticity. The cheapest price is not always the best deal. A slightly higher price from a verified seller with free returns beats a suspiciously low price from an unknown source. If you have doubts about a seller, read our guide to spotting fakes.

Use it with the dupe finder. If the original is out of your budget at every seller, check Find a Dupe. A well reviewed inspired fragrance at one tenth the price is often the smarter buy for daily wear.

What we do not do

We do not take payment from sellers for better placement or lower displayed prices. The cheapest verified price is shown first, regardless of commercial relationships. We also do not invent prices: if a perfume has no tracked price, the page says so honestly instead of showing a guess. Perfumes that are not sold by any tracked Indian retailer simply have no price data, and that is stated plainly.

The bottom line

Price comparison exists so you never overpay out of ignorance. Check the perfume page, compare the verified sellers, watch for bottle size tricks, and buy with confidence. The Indian fragrance market rewards informed buyers, and that is exactly what this tool is for.
