Velvet Tender Oud is a unisex eau de parfum from Dolce & Gabbana. It opens with Sweet Almond. The heart reveals Damask Rose and Rose De Mai settling into a base of Agarwood (oud) and Woody Notes. Its character is defined by Rose, Oud and Almond accords.
Scent story
To me this smells like opening a box of rose-and-almond marzipan in a room where oud has been burning for hours. Sweet almond floods in first — creamy, rich, confectionary — then Damask rose blooms dark and velvety through the middle, and the oud rises underneath: deep, animalic, resinous, the smell of ancient wood and smoke. It never sweetens into submission. The oud keeps its edge, the rose keeps its thorns. This is tenderness with teeth — beautiful, but it will not be underestimated. Not for beginners — beginners stay away.
