Composition
Ambre Impérial by Van Cleef & Arpels (2015) is a unisex Collection Extraordinaire Eau de Parfum by Quentin Bisch, built around an imperial amber accord. Pink pepper and bergamot open into a heart of amber, vanilla, tonka bean and benzoin, grounded in woodsy notes. It is one of the most popular fragrances in the Collection Extraordinaire line.
Ambre Impérial is amber done the VC&A way — smooth, balanced and cashmere-soft rather than boozy or heavy. Pink pepper gives the opening a gentle sparkle before it melts into amber, vanilla and roasted tonka with a warm benzoin glow. Reviewers call it the ultimate refined amber: cosy without being loud. For beginners: this is amber training-wheels in the best sense — warm, comforting, and very forgiving, especially in winter evenings.
