Composition
Sublime Vanille is an amber-vanilla eau de parfum for women and men by Olivier Creed, launched in 2009 as the first fragrance in the Creed Royal Exclusives line. It opens with Bourbon vanilla and vanilla orchid, reveals a tonka bean heart, and settles into lemon, bergamot and musk.
To me this smells like walking through a vanilla plantation in Madagascar at harvest. Bourbon vanilla — the real stuff, dark and boozy and almost chocolatey — hits first, with vanilla orchid adding a floral lift that keeps it from ever feeling flat. Tonka bean melts through the heart like warm caramel, and then the citrus arrives: lemon and bergamot, bright as sunlight through the leaves, cutting the richness so it stays luminous. Musk settles underneath, soft as powdered sugar. It is vanilla the way royalty wears it — not a cupcake, but the raw, expensive, sun-warmed bean itself. Beginner-friendly.
