Composition
Sikkim is a feminine eau de parfum from Lancôme, launched in 1971. It opens with Galbanum, Aldehydes, Caraway, Gardenia and Bergamot. The heart reveals Carnation, Rose, Narcissus, Iris and Jasmine settling into a base of Oakmoss, Leather, Vetiver, Patchouli, Amber and Coconut. Its character is defined by Earthy, Aromatic and Green accords.
To me this smells like a Himalayan monastery garden that time forgot — galbanum green and wild, aldehydes sparkling like mountain air, caraway strange and herbal. Gardenia blooms white and waxy, bergamot bright, then carnation, rose, narcissus, iris and jasmine tumble in like an entire flower market at altitude. Oakmoss spreads dark and earthy, leather worn as old prayer books, vetiver and patchouli rooting it in soil, amber and a whisper of coconut warming the stone. It is vintage, green, and gloriously weird — a lost classic that smells like nothing else on earth. Not for beginners — beginners stay away.
