Composition
A Private Blend oriental-woody for women launched in September 2011, created by Yann Vasnier. Spices, cinnamon, caraway, fenugreek and carrot seeds open it; ylang-ylang, jasmine and rose form the heart; sandalwood, benzoin, Virginia cedar, musk and agarwood oud close it. Creamy Australian sandalwood wrapped in spice and soft florals.
This smells like a spice market in Kerala that happens to sell sandalwood. Cinnamon, caraway, fenugreek, carrot seeds — a whole masala of warm, earthy spice — open over the creamiest sandalwood, and the effect is like hot milk with haldi and elaichi: comforting, exotic, deeply warm. Ylang, jasmine, and rose in the heart add a floral softness, like flowers pressed between the spice sacks. Benzoin, cedar, musk, and a whisper of oud in the base keep it glowing for hours. It is spicy, yes, but the spice is kitchen-spice, not danger-spice. A warm hug in Private Blend clothing. Beginner-friendly.
