Composition
Santal Dān Shā is the late-2022 Armani Privé Les Eaux eau de toilette by Fabrice Pellegrin, a unisex sandalwood composition. Bergamot, cardamom and violet leaf open over elemi, frankincense and musk, with New Caledonian sandalwood, Virginia cedar and dreamwood beneath.
Named after a type of sandalwood, Santal Dān Shā is Armani Privé's meditation on the sacred wood. The opening is bright — bergamot and cardamom — but it quickly settles into creamy, milky sandalwood wrapped in frankincense smoke and soft musk. It is serene and contemplative, like a temple courtyard at dawn. For Indian wearers, the sandalwood will feel deeply familiar, though this is the polished French interpretation. Beginners new to sandalwood scents will find this an exceptionally smooth introduction.
