Composition
Royal Mayfair is a floral-fruity-gourmand eau de parfum for women and men by Olivier Creed, launched in 2015. It opens with pine tree, gin and lime, reveals a single rose heart note, and settles into eucalyptus, cedar and orange.
To me this smells like a London gentlemen's club at noon that has been reimagined as a garden — pine and gin snapping cold and green, lime cutting through like a laugh. A single rose blooms in the middle of all that crispness, improbable and perfect, and eucalyptus with cedar and orange cools everything down into something brisk and aristocratic. It is fresh but it has manners. I imagine tailored wool and polished shoes. The eucalyptus is bracing, like a cold wind off the Thames, keeping the rose from ever going soft. Beginner-friendly.
