Composition
Dhanal Oudh Jurrah by Rasasi is an eau de parfum unisex, launched in 2011. It opens with Agarwood (Oud), Jasmine, Rose and Saffron; the heart features Agarwood (Oud), Gaiac Wood, Sandalwood, Vetiver and Thyme; and the base is Agarwood (Oud), Musk and Ambergris. The composition reads predominantly woody, animalic and warm spicy.
To me this smells like the inside of a Kannauj attar distillery at 4am, when the copper deghs are steaming and the bhatti fire has been burning all night. Agarwood thick and animalic, rising off hot oil like breath — layer upon layer of oud, each darker than the last. Jasmine and rose flicker like small white flames; saffron glows ember-red. Gaiac wood, sandalwood, vetiver and thyme root it in earth and herb, musk and ambergris giving it that raw, skin-like depth. This is not perfume; it is a place you carry on your skin. One drop is a whole monsoon afternoon. Not for beginners — beginners stay away.
