Composition
Dhan Al Oudh Safwa by Rasasi is an eau de parfum unisex. It opens with Woody Notes and Citruses; the heart features Rose; and the base is Agarwood (Oud), Musk and Amber. The composition reads predominantly oud, woody and floral.
To me this smells like oud chips on hot coals in a quiet majlis — the real thing, no translation offered. Woody notes and citruses open the door politely enough, bright and composed, but then rose blooms in the heart — deep, dark, almost wine-like — and you can feel what is coming. Agarwood takes over completely: resinous, animalic, ancient, the smell of forests that no longer exist, rising off the skin like smoke off embers. Musk and amber hold it like a frame holds a fire. It is magnificent and it is merciless — pure oud, undiluted, unapologetic. This is not a fragrance; it is an initiation. Not for beginners — beginners stay away.
