Composition
One of the house's earliest releases, from 2006. Mandarin, ginger and raspberry open onto a heart of lily, rose absolute and rice powder, with tonka bean, sandalwood and musk in the drydown. Powdery, floral and deliberately provocative, as the name suggests.
To me this smells like a cabaret dressing room between shows — all powder, champagne, and secrets. Mandarin and ginger fizz like the first glass of the evening, raspberry stains the air like lipstick on a coupe glass, and then the rice powder arrives: soft, vintage, the smell of a powder puff in a velvet boudoir. Rose absolute and sandalwood warm underneath, like silk stockings and stage lights. It's scandalous and powdery at once — the scent of a woman who knows exactly what she's doing. Beginner-friendly.
