Composition
Perles de Lalique is a modern chypre floral composed by Nathalie Lorson. Bulgarian rose opens the composition, followed by a heart of bourbon pepper and powdery iris. The base layers patchouli, oakmoss, vetiver, orris root and cashmere wood.
To me this is a pearl necklace in a velvet box — Bulgarian rose at first, soft and pink, then pepper and iris powdering it over like face powder. The patchouli, oakmoss, and vetiver underneath are the old wooden vanity, mossy and green, and orris root keeps everything cool and composed. The orris root is cool and powdery as marble, and the cashmere wood underneath is soft as the name — this is elegance that does not need to raise its voice. A modern chypre that smells like inherited elegance: floral on top, earth beneath, timeless in between. Beginner-friendly.
