Composition
Papilefiko, composed by Dominique Ropion and named from the Esperanto for 'butterfly effect', is an aromatic-woody extrait. It opens with cardamom, coriander and citrus, develops a heart of lavandin, artemisia and jasmine, and settles into fir balsam, moss and styrax.
To me this smells like a forest on the Black Sea coast, where the air is thick with green. Cardamom and coriander spark warm and bright, then the forest closes in — fir balsam resinous and deep, artemisia sharp and herbal, moss soft and damp underfoot like the forest floor itself. Lavandin hums overhead, purple and humming with bees. Styrax warms the base, balsamic and golden as late sun through the trees. It's wildness, bottled — green, resinous, and completely alive.
