Composition
Pachuli Kozha is an extrait de parfum by Nishane, launched in 2015 and composed by Jorge Lee ('kozha' is Turkish for leather/skin). It opens with chamomile, artemisia, ylang-ylang and hyacinth, deepens into patchouli and black pepper, and rests on honey, incense and leather. Unisex, earthy and leathery, it is a wild, stormy take on patchouli.
The opening is like a meadow after a storm — green, herbal, slightly bitter chamomile and artemisia with a lush ylang-ylang warmth. Then the patchouli storms in: earthy, minty, almost chocolatey-dark, spiked with black pepper. The dry-down is where it turns beautiful — golden honey and smoky incense wrapping around soft, worn leather, like an old leather diary with a honeyed glow. It is strange, wild and utterly captivating. Made for monsoon evenings and winter nights; in peak heat the earthiness can feel heavy. Not for beginners — the bitter-green opening is challenging, so sample first.
