Composition
Ombre de Hyacinth is a floral green Eau de Parfum launched in 2012 in the Private Blend Jardin Noir collection. It creates bewitching tension as hyacinth cloaks its beauty behind cool aristocratic finery: violet leaf, galbanum, magnolia petals and olibanum open over a heart of hyacinth, pink pepper and jasmine, resting on galbanum, musk and benzoin.
To me this smells like a walled garden right after rain — violet leaf and galbanum opening green and cool, magnolia petals soft and white, olibanum adding a whisper of incense like a chapel nearby. And then the hyacinth: that unmistakable spring bulb, green-stemmed and honeyed, beautiful but with a cool, almost aristocratic distance. Pink pepper and jasmine lift it, musk and benzoin in the base keep it soft and wearable. It is from the Jardin Noir collection, and it has that line's strange, shadowy elegance — a floral for people who find florals too sunny. Green, fresh, quietly bewitching. Beginner-friendly.
