Composition
Launched in 1985. Aldehydes, coriander, green leaves and bergamot open over orris root, narcissus, tuberose, rose, jasmine and lily-of-the-valley, grounded in oakmoss, leather, vetiver, patchouli, musk and amber. A vintage aldehydic floral in the grand 1980s style.
This is 1985, and it smells like it. Aldehydes, coriander, green leaves and bergamot open with that unmistakable vintage sparkle — soapy, powdery, a little sharp — and then a whole flower shop of orris, narcissus, tuberose, rose, jasmine and lily-of-the-valley blooms, grand and unapologetic, like a society wedding. Oakmoss, leather, vetiver, patchouli, musk and amber dry it down into something mossy and leathery and formidable. It's a chypre-floral from the era when perfume had shoulders. Magnificent, and completely out of step with modern taste — which is exactly the point. Not for beginners — beginners stay away.
