Composition
An oriental eau de parfum for women from Maison Alhambra. Frangipani, ylang ylang and white flowers open lush and tropical, musk and amber form the sensual heart, and cashmeran, vanilla and cedar settle the warm, persistent base.
To me this smells like a Goan evening in December, when the frangipani trees are still flowering and the air is warm enough for bare shoulders. The flowers are everywhere — frangipani, ylang-ylang, that whole creamy white bouquet — sweet and slightly coconutty, the way tropical flowers smell after rain. Amber and vanilla rise like heat off the laterite roads, and cashmeran gives it that soft woollen warmth, like a shawl someone drapes over you when the sea breeze picks up. It's golden-hour skin, salt still on it, flowers in the hair. Pure holiday. Beginner-friendly.
