Composition
Jonquille de Nuit is a floral Eau de Parfum launched in 2012 in the Private Blend Jardin Noir collection. Heady and hypnotic, it builds around a full-bodied narcissus heart with uplifting notes of mimosa, violet leaf, cyclamen, angelica and bitter orange blossom, flowing into a foundation of orris and amber.
To me this is a night garden after the party ends — mimosa and violet leaf green in the dark, cyclamen and angelica cool as stone, bitter orange blossom glowing. Then narcissus, heady and hypnotic, the only flower still awake, over orris and amber like the last candles. The angelica is green and musky, almost animalic, and the bitter orange blossom glows against it — the garden holds its breath. Amber warms the whole dark like a single lamp left on. The Jardin Noir at its most mysterious: green, floral, and quietly spellbinding. Beginner-friendly.
