Erolfa is a chypre eau de parfum for men by Olivier Creed and Pierre Bourdon, launched in 1992 and inspired by the Creed family's Mediterranean sailing memories. It opens with lime, bergamot, melon, green notes, lemon, violet and caraway, develops herbal notes, pine tree, ginger, pepper, jasmine, cyclamen and nutmeg flower in the heart, and settles into ambergris, musk, sandalwood, oakmoss and cedar.
Scent story
To me this smells like standing on the deck of a boat off the Goa coast, early morning, before the heat arrives. Lime and bergamot cut through the salt air, melon and green notes adding something juicy and alive, violet softening it like sea mist. Herbal notes and pine come through as the coastline gets closer — ginger and pepper warming the breeze, jasmine and cyclamen like wildflowers on the cliff. It settles into ambergris and musk, that salty skin-warmth, with sandalwood and oakmoss underneath. Green, marine, free. The smell of having nowhere to be. Beginner-friendly.
