Designer-inspired fragrance from India.
To me it smells like writing a letter you'll never send, in black ink, in a forest at night — cypress dark as the trees, vetiver smoky as the ground, musk like the paper absorbing it all. Lalique's Encre Noire is the scent of beautiful melancholy: it doesn't cheer you up, it keeps you company in the dark. As a pure vetiver oil it's even more uncompromising — ink, earth, and midnight. Not for beginners — dark vetiver is a midnight only some will love.
