Composition
Dionisio is a unisex extrait de parfum from Tiziana Terenzi, launched in 2018 alongside Afrodite. It opens with Orientalgris, Musk and Pheromone, reveals a heart of Orientalgris, Tahitian Vanilla, Jasmine and Lily of the Valley, and settles into Orientalgris, Oudh, Musk, Madagascan Vanilla and Pheromone. Its character is defined by sweet, amber and vanilla accords.
To me this smells like a silk curtain in a room where something is definitely happening. Tahitian and Madagascan vanilla, thick and creamy as fresh malai; jasmine and lily-of-the-valley, white and heady; and underneath, oudh — dark, animalic, unmistakable — humming like a low note on a tanpura. The ambergris warmth gives it a skin-like heat, like the smell of someone else's neck. It's sweet on top and feral underneath, a beautiful contradiction. This is not a daytime scent. This is a 1am scent, and it knows exactly what it's doing. Not for beginners — beginners stay away.
