Composition
D&G Anthology Le Fou 21 is a masculine eau de parfum from Dolce & Gabbana, launched in 2009. It opens with Coriander, Bergamot and Violet. The heart reveals Juniper Berries, Cognac and Cardamom settling into a base of Fern, Ginger, Tonka Bean and Woodsy Notes. Its character is defined by Aromatic, Woody and Warm Spicy accords.
To me this smells like a gentleman's club at 11pm, when the conversation gets interesting. Coriander and bergamot open green and bright, then the cognac arrives — amber, boozy, slow — with juniper adding a gin-like snap underneath. Cardamom and ginger warm the middle like the fire in the grate. Tonka and woods settle it, smooth as the leather chairs. It's the madman of the anthology, but a charming one — brilliant, slightly reckless, and wonderful company. The dry-down is pure warmth, like the embers of a very good evening. Beginner-friendly.
