Composition
D&G Anthology Le Bateleur 1 is a masculine eau de parfum from Dolce & Gabbana, launched in 2009. It opens with Juniper Berries, Cardamom and Birch. The heart reveals Water Notes and Coriander settling into a base of Virginia Cedar, Vetiver and Olibanum. Its character is defined by Aromatic, Woody and Aquatic accords.
To me this smells like the Magician's card come to life — birch forest, cold air, and something about to happen. Juniper berries, cardamom and birch open green and electric, like the crackle before a trick, resinous and bright and full of intent. Water notes and coriander keep the heart fluid and mysterious — a stream running through the trees, impossible to catch — and Virginia cedar, vetiver and olibanum ground the base in dry wood and ancient resin, like the table the cards are dealt on. It smells like potential: fresh, woody, and quietly magical. Beginner-friendly.
