Composition
Cartier's 2012 Eau de Toilette flanker of Declaration, composed by in-house perfumer Mathilde Laurent as a more subversive, romantic evening take. Black pepper, cardamom and caraway open over a rose and nutmeg heart, drying down to creamy sandalwood.
A peppery blast of black pepper and cardamom opens — sharp, piquant, unmistakably Declaration DNA — before a huge, thorny rose blooms at the heart with warm nutmeg. As the night wears on, sandalwood takes over: creamy, powdery, intimate, the spice softening into something almost milky. Made for Indian winter evenings, date nights and festive occasions; the rose-spice combination feels made for wedding-season formals. More immediately wearable than the original for beginners, yet still distinctive.
