Composition
Lancôme's 1967 floral-green classic by Gerard Goupy — a spring garden of lily-of-the-valley, narcissus, violet and rose over aldehydes, rosemary and tuberose, resting on civet, musk, sandalwood, vetiver and amber.
To me this smells like a 1967 spring garden viewed through vintage glass — lily-of-the-valley, narcissus, violet and rose, with peach and bergamot glowing through the petals. Aldehydes add that unmistakable retro sparkle, rosemary and tuberose keeping it green and alive. Underneath, civet, musk, sandalwood and amber give it a soft animalic warmth, like a fur stole over bare shoulders. It is a vintage charmer — powdery, floral, and beautifully of its time. Beginner-friendly — if you love classic perfumery, this is a gentle doorway in.
