To me it smells like opening my grandmother's rosewood almirah and finding her wedding silk still folded inside — powder, aldehydes like cold champagne, roses and jasmine that have been waiting decades to be noticed. Chanel No. 5 is over a hundred years old and still the most imitated perfume on earth, because nothing else smells like history worn this elegantly.
