Composition
Chevrefeuille is an eau de toilette by Creed, launched in 1982 and composed by Olivier Creed ('chevrefeuille' is French for honeysuckle). It opens with green leaves and honeysuckle, continues through honeysuckle and green grass at the heart, and rests on a base of ambergris. Unisex, green-floral and fresh, it is a discontinued grey-cap-era classic inspired by the honeysuckle vines of Olivier Creed's childhood home in Normandy.
The opening is pure spring — crushed green leaves and grass with the sweet, honeyed breath of honeysuckle flowers, like walking past a flowering vine on a cool morning. It stays green and fresh throughout, never turning heavy or sweet, with the ambergris adding just a whisper of salty warmth at the base. It smells natural and effortless, like the French countryside in a bottle. A beautiful daytime scent for spring and summer, though as a vintage EDT its longevity is modest. Moderately beginner-friendly — the green freshness is easy to enjoy, but its rarity and vintage character mean sampling first is essential.
