Composition
Launched in 2011, Boss Orange for Men is a woody-spicy fragrance for men. Red apple and coriander open the scent, leading into a heart of incense and Sichuan pepper. The dry-down rests on vanilla and woodsy notes, including African bubinga wood.
To me this smells like autumn in a city that doesn't really get autumn — so you fake it. Red apple, crisp and polished; coriander seed warm and a little strange; a thread of incense smoke like a dhoop stick in the next room. Vanilla smooths it all into something cosy. The Sichuan pepper keeps it from getting sleepy, though — that little electric buzz on the skin, like the air before a storm. It's warm, sweet, slightly smoky: a knit sweater, a bonfire two streets over, someone you like leaning a little closer. Beginner-friendly.
