Composition
Boss Elements, launched in 1994, is an aromatic-woody fragrance for men. Lavender, aldehydes, lemon, bergamot, artemisia and basil open the scent, with a floral-spicy heart of violet, clary sage, jasmine, caraway, rose, coriander and lily-of-the-valley. Leather, sandalwood, cedar, musk, amber and oakmoss form the base.
To me this smells like a thunderstorm rolling over a lavender field — aldehydes and citrus electric in the first breath, lavender and basil green and wild, artemisia bitter like crushed herbs. The florals come in waves: violet, jasmine, rose, lily-of-the-valley, sweet against the storm. Then the base turns serious — a whisper of leather, sandalwood, oakmoss, dark timber after rain. It is the Nineties in a bottle, and somehow it still works. Amber warms the drydown, like the last light hitting wet pavement. Beginner-friendly.
